Anyone working with compressed gases will already know that safety is top priority. The new Code of Practice (CP47) encapsulates what needs to be done, but where can we go to learn more about it? Air Liquide UK is partnering with leading gas safety training agency PGS, Proactive Gas Safety, to offer accredited specialist courses aimed at giving busy users in a whole range of situations the information and skills they need.

We take best practice guidelines from the BCGA Codes of Practice and the HSE to create training courses for gas users, whatever their area of operation” says Rebecca Miller, Head of Marketing at PGS.

We use video alongside on-site practical demonstration and classroom sessions to provide users with everything they require to work safely with compressed and cryogenic gases.”

As well as the hands-on and classroom sessions there is an online e-learning component which brings users up-to-speed on safe handling of cylinders and equipment. “We aim to make the training engaging and interesting and, most importantly, targeted exactly at what the user needs in a format that is easy to take in.”

Safety is a top priority too for Air Liquide. David Hopper, Air Liquide UK’s Head of Safety: “Air Liquide recognise the importance of safety in the workplace and we’re pleased to be working with PGS to provide access to this specialist safety training”.
